The Aberystwyth RNLI lifeboat was called out at 7.30pm on Saturday 24th April 2010 to assist two students in an inflatable dinghy off Aberystwyth north beach.
A member of the public became concerned for the occupants of the dinghy, and felt they were struggling to make their way back to shore, so called the Coastguard to raise the alarm.
The RNLI lifeboat was launched, and found the dinghy a quarter of a mile offshore, picked up the boat and the two students and delivered them to the landing stage on north beach, where members of HM Coastguard were waiting to meet them.
The students were tired and very cold, and after being given blankets to warm them up, were taken back to their hall of residence on the seafront.
