Action to Tackle Fly Tipping

Residents of Heol Ty Crwn, Caerphilly were given reprieve this week as action was taken to remove a mountain of rubbish which had been building up in the street for a number of years.

The rubbish has accumulated at the rear of one property, where the fence line had been broken down and was known to be attracting rats and other vermin.

Assembly candidate, Owen Meredith, met residents last month who raised the matter with him. Acting on their concerns, he secured a council order to remove the rubbish – which has now been cleared.

Owen commented:

“Residents were hugely frustrated by the lack of action and failure of previous attempts to have the rubbish removed. I am delighted that we have been able to take action and finally get this resolved. I am grateful to the council for working with me on this.”
