Police are taking to the road with North Wales Fire and Rescue to offer free advice to the vulnerable and the elderly.
Later this month they will be joining forces to drive around North Wales in a special Information Bus calling at 10 towns in the Meirionnydd area.
The bus will be in the following places week commencing September 20:-
Monday – Tywyn/Aberdovey
Tuesday – Lllanfairstiniog/Blaenau Ffestiniog
Wednesday – Bala/Glanarafon
Thursday – Barmouth/Talybont
Friday – Fairbourne /Dolgellau
In addition to the Information Bus, police are also launching a major new initiative in Barmouth to help the vulnerable and the elderly.
Inspector Guy Blackwell of the Community Safety Partnership, based in Caernarfon, said that the pilot scheme would see police working in partnership with local doctors surgeries.
He said: “We will be working together with local surgeries to identify vulnerable people and then we can act accordingly.
“The initiative is being launched in Barmouth, on Thursday September 23 during a visit by Ruth Marks, Wales Commissioner for Old People,” he said.
NB: Time and venues for the Information Bus are yet to be finalised.
