Local Labour AM Jeff Cuthbert has congratulated Rudry Village Hall on being among the finalists of the competitors for the Biffawards 2011.
Biffa is a major waste management business and last year Rudry Village Hall was able to install a geothermal heating system courtesy of a grant from the company.
Now the Hall’s management hopes to fund further improvements to its heating system with a solar panel system to provide electricity for the heating pump if it wins a Biffaward this year.
Jeff has been supporting the Hall over the years in its efforts to become a vibrant centre for the local community and its success as a meeting point for several local groups has been welcome news for the area.
Jeff Cuthbert AM said: ‘I wish Rudry Village Hall the best of luck for the next round of the Biffa competition and continuing successes with its position as a multi-faceted community building.”
