Responding to today’s news that the Assembly Government has given the final go-ahead for a trial cull of badgers to combat bovine TB, Shadow Rural Affairs Minister Brynle Williams AM said:
“I welcome this announcement. It is an important step in the fight against bovine TB in Wales.
“While I don’t want to see the wholesale slaughter of wildlife I recognise that we cannot afford to sit back and ignore the very real threat posed by bovine TB to animal health and the farming industry.”
