AM Urges Pakistan Player Ban Ahead of Twenty20 Fixtures in Wales

Speaking Ahead of the Pakistan cricket team’s visit to South Wales to play England at the Swalec Stadium on September 6th and 8th, William Graham AM said;

‘Allegations of match-fixing in the recent Test series between Pakistan and England must be met with swift action. The Pakistan Cricket Board must immediately suspend the three senior players accused. People holding tickets for the forthcoming Twenty20 matches in Cardiff need to be convinced that they will be watching a genuine, competitive fixture’.

Khurram Khan, from Pillgwenlly in Newport, a keen cricketer for Newport Asians echoed the Conservative AM for South Wales East’s appeal for swift action;

‘Many young cricketers from the BME communities in Newport and wider Gwent area look up to the Pakistan team. It is essential that urgent action is taken against all those implicated ahead of the Twenty20 matches next week’.
