Appeal following robbery in Ruthin

Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a robbery at the Co-op store in Ruthin.

Shortly after 9pm on Sunday 31st October 2010, a robbery took place at the store on Station Road in Ruthin. Two masked offenders entered the store and threatened staff with what are believed to be axe like implements. A staff member was assaulted, but fortunately is not seriously hurt.

One offender was wearing a black balaclava type face covering and the other was wearing a mask similar to that used in the Scream horror film series.

The offenders have made off from the store with an undisclosed quantity of cash.

North Wales Police are appealing to the local community for information as regards this crime. Anyone who can assist the police in any way is asked to telephone 101 (if in Wales) 0845 607 1001 (Welsh language line) or 0845 6071002.
