Appeal following Wrexham town centre assault

Police in Wrexham are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in the town centre in the early hours of Sunday February 13.

The incident, which left the male victim with a serious head injury, happened at the junction of Abbott Street and Vicarage Hill.

The incident occurred around 3:20 am when the victim was walking down Vicarage Hill towards Brook Street.

He was involved in an altercation with the occupants of a dark blue or black Vauxhall Corsa being driven by a woman. A male passenger got out of the car and punched the victim who hit his head on the pavement.

An ambulance was called and the unconscious victim was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital. His injury is not life threatening and he has since been discharged from hospital.

Police believe a large group of people witnessed the assault and are appealing for anyone with information, including the driver of the Vauxhall Corsa, to come forward.
