Appeal for Information after Officer Injured in Tredegar

Gwent Police is appealing for information and releasing the attached e-fit image to try and trace two men following an incident in Tredegar.

The incident occurred at approximately 9.30pm on Tuesday 31st August. A police officer stopped two men acting suspiciously outside the entrance to Ashvale Industrial Estate. As he spoke to the men to ask them what they were doing, one of them lunged forward and cut the officer’s arm resulting in a puncture wound. They both then ran off in the direction of Bryn Bach Park.

The officer was taken to the Prince Charles Hospital where he received 3 stitches.

The first male (depicted in the attached e-fit) is described as white with a pale complexion. He is believed to be in his mid twenties, approximately 6 feet tall and of slim build. He was wearing blue stone-wash jeans and a navy blue coloured hooded top with the hood up.

The second male is described as white, in his 20’s, approximately 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 10 inches tall and of slim build. He also had a pale complexion. He was wearing a dark coloured Adidas hooded top with light stripes on the shoulders, and a dark coloured scarf wrapped around his neck and chin.
