Appeal for information after robbery at Chepstow Hotel, A48, Chepstow

Police are appealing for information after a robbery at the Chepstow Hotel, on the A48, Chepstow in the early hours of yesterday morning (Tuesday July 20th, 2010)

Between 2am and 3am four men entered the hotel, threatened a 28 year old male employee with a metal bar and stole a significant amount of cash from the hotel and from fruit machines on the premises. The employee was not injured but left shocked as a result of the incident.

The four offenders were all wearing dark clothing, one was described as white skinned and tall.

Forensic officers have been at the location today and house to house enquiries are being carried out in the area.

Detective Inspector Martin Price said:

“We have officers at the scene today gathering evidence and speaking to any possible witnesses. Thankfully, this kind of incident doesn’t happen too often in the Gwent Police Force area and the victim was not injured but it was none the less shocking for him. We would appeal to anyone with information to get in touch,”
