Gwent Police is appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 11.20am on Wednesday 25th November.
The collision took place in Newport on the A4042 between Grove Park roundabout and the Caerleon Road M4 intersection.
It involved a silver Mazda Xedos with one male and one female occupant.
As a result of the collision the passenger, 84 year old Sheila Howells from Newport, was conveyed to the Royal Gwent Hospital. She later died on Sunday 29th November.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Royal Gwent Hospital and said that Sheila will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
