Appeal for information following robbery in Chepstow

Gwent Police is appealing for information following an attempt robbery that occurred in Chepstow in the early hours of Saturday 20th March.

Between 2am and 2.30am a 21 year old man was walking along Bulwark Road when he was approached by 3 males.

They asked him for a cigarette and when he said he didn’t have one they asked for his wallet and threatened him with a kitchen knife.

A struggle followed and then the offenders ran off empty handed.

The male with the knife ran off down Mathern Road in the direction of the Athletics Club, and the two others ran down Bulwark Road in the direction of Bulwark shops.

The victim received medical treatment for facial injuries at the Royal Gwent Hospital.

Male 1 (who was carrying the knife) is described as being white, in his early 20s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and of slim build. He was wearing a white hooded jumper with a bold black logo saying “ECKO” across the front and a picture of a rhino underneath with the hood up, baggy navy jogging bottoms and white trainers.

Male 2 is described as being white, in his early 20s, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and of slim build but slightly more stocky than Male 1. He had pointy facial features and a local accent. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper with a shiny logo on the front with the hood up.

Male 3 is described as being white, taller and of larger build than the other two males, and was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper with the hood up.
