Appeal for Information to Robbery in Caldicot

Gwent Police is appealing for information to a robbery that occurred at approximately 6.50am yesterday morning, Thursday 30th December, in Caldicot.

A lorry was broken into on Newport Road and cigarettes stolen.

There were five male offenders, they all had balaclavas covering their faces and were all wearing dark clothing.

The lorry was parked at the time and there was no-one in it, however the driver and another member of the public, a female, challenged the offenders. They pushed the female away from the lorry, she didn’t suffer any injuries and the offenders did not have any weapons.

The offenders made off on foot in the direction of Jubilee Car Park and it’s believed they may have then left in a vehicle.

Anyone who saw this incident, a vehicle acting suspiciously in the area at the time or has any information about the crime is asked to contact police. Anyone who is offered cigarettes for sale is also asked to contact Gwent Police on 01633 838111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 as they could assist the investigation.
