Appeal for man to come forward

Police in Wrexham are appealing for a man to contact them after a teenage girl was subjected to inappropriate behaviour on Saturday evening (June 19).

The 15 year old was walking along Stansty Road towards Gwersyllt, when she was approached by a man who acted inappropriately towards her.

The man, who was in his thirties, approached the girl as she walked under the A483 flyover at 6.30pm on Saturday. He is described as: White, 6ft tall, slim, in his thirties with short grey hair, which is flat on top.

He had crooked teeth and his clothes, including a grey t-shirt, were described as “grotty.”

The girl was uninjured, but was left shocked by the incident.

Police were alerted and a search was carried out. Inspector Paul Jones said: “We would appeal for the man, or anyone who saw a person fitting this description in the area on Saturday, to contact us.

“Inquiries are on going and I would like to reassure people that we have not had any other reports of this nature and it appears at this time to be an isolated incident.

“Patrols will be increased in the area in line with the district crime reduction strategy.”
