Commenting on the publication of new statistics showing a fall in the number of casualties on roads in South East Wales, Mohammad Asghar said:
“The publication of these figures is to be welcomed. They show the public are taking greater care on roads across South East Wales.
“I am concerned, however, that the number of casualties on roads in the unitary authorities of Merthyr Tydfil, Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen all showed an increase.
“There is always more to do to make our roads safer. The Welsh Government must work with relevant stakeholders to promote safety and ensure the number of casualties on roads across Wales continues to fall”.
