Assembly Member highlights importance of small businesses at chip shop opening

Mohammad Asghar, National Assembly Member for South Wales East, this week attended the opening of a new fast food restaurant in Risca.

The Shadow Minister for Equalities & Sport used the occasion to call on the Welsh Government to do all it can to support small businesses throughout Wales.

Mr Asghar said: “Small businesses are the lifeblood of the Welsh economy – and the Welsh Government must do all it can to support them.

“This week, I was pleased to attend the opening of a new fish and chip shop in Risca. It is an ambitious, small business which will cater to the local community.

“If every small business in Wales could hire one additional member of staff, then every person looking for a job in Wales could be employed.

“By offering small businesses the support they deserve, we can stimulate job creation and economic growth”.
