Autumn Ideas at Wrexham’s Country Parks

Wrexham Parks and Countryside service is running a series of exciting events for young people during the autumn half term.

On Tuesday 26 October at Nant Mill there will be a Woody Walk and Fungal Foray in Plas Power Wood which is full of fungi in the Autumn. Why not join the rangers and hunt for interesting samples. The walk starts at 1.30 and is suitable for all ages with an adult. It is also free. Dogs can be taken along but must be kept on a lead. Remember to wear boots or sturdy shoes.

Wednesday the 27th will see Bellevue park host a Wildlife Treasure Trail around the park. Meet at the Bowls Pavilion at 1.00. the event is suitable for 5 – 12 year olds and is free.

If you don’t fancy a treasure trail why not visit Alyn Waters where there’s an opportunity to make and decorate your own kite between 1.30 and 3.30. The event is suitable for all ages and children should be accompanied with an adult. The event costs £1.75.

Thursday 28th at Ty Mawr looks ahead to Halloween and gives an opportunity to make a Spooky Spider hat and find out more about our eight legged friends. The event is held between 1.30 – 3.30 and children should be accompanied with an adult. The event costs £1.75.

On Friday 29th Ponciau Banks rangers will be at the Rhos bowling pavilion making Lovely Lanterns to brighten up cold winter nights between 1.30 and 3.30. The event is suitable for children aged 8 and over and costs £1.75.

Finally, on saturday 30th October Halloween Howls will be taking place at nant Mill. The Friends of Nant Mill will be going for a spooky story walk and there will be an opportunity to win a Fancy Dress competition prize. Hot soups and drinks will also be available. The event starts at 4.00 pm, costs £2.00 and is suitable for all ages.
