Beach Party comes to Blackwood

IMG_070Blackwood Beach Party will wash ashore on the High Street on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June for a great weekend of family fun and entertainment.

A selection of over 40 food & craft stalls will line the high street, selling everything from delicious cakes and patisseries to silver precious stone jewellery and home wine tasting sessions.

Visitors will be in for a treat as they ‘soak up’ the shopping experience on offer in the town. From the mixture of independent retailers and popular high street names including Argos, Boots and Dorothy Perkins, visitors will be able to find the perfect accompaniment to their summer wardrobe.

After a stroll around the shops and stalls, Blackwood town centre is the perfect place to sit back and relax with a bite to eat in one of the town’s many eateries including delicious bakeries and cafés.

The event coincides with a new campaign launched by Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Town Centre Management team, encouraging both residents and visitors alike to ‘Choose the High Street’ and support local retailers.

Cllr Ken James, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning and Sustainable Development, said: “This year’s event is particularly important for Blackwood and I would encourage the people of the county borough to come along to a fantastic weekend of family fun and in doing so show their support for the town’s retailers.”

Blackwood Beach Party will run from 9am – 5pm on the Saturday and 10am – 4pm on the Sunday. For further information on the event visit www.caerphilly.gov.uk/events or call the Event Hotline on 02920 880011.
