Blaenau Gwent’s SNAP 2009 photography winners

CameraKeen ‘snappers’ have been out and about in Blaenau Gwent capturing wildlife in natural habitats on camera for SNAP 2009.

This year over 200 entries were received for the biodiversity photographic competition. The results were announced at Llanhilleth Miners’ Institute – Karen Hatch was the overall winner.

SNAP awards:
11 years and under:

Bethan Warburton (Slime Beech Fungi at Silent Valley Nature Reserve, Cwm)

12 to17 years:
Jack Coles (Lesser Redpoll at Pen-y-Parc, Ebbw Vale)

18 years and over and overall winner:

Karen Hatch (Common Frog at Rhyd-y-Blew, Ebbw Vale)

Winter Wildlife:
Denise Ringdahl (Frosted Teasel)

Schools:
Georgetown Primary, Tredegar and Abertillery Comprehensive

SNAP is organised by Blaenau Gwent Biodiversity Partnership, Blaenau Gwent Council and Countryside Council for Wales.
