Community and sports groups in the Nantyglo area will be able to enjoy more activities at Banna Park Pavilion with funding secured by Blaenau Gwent Council.
A £497,000 grant from the Heads of the Valleys Programme is the lifeline for the 1930s pavilion. Work has already begun on repairs, a new roof and an extension.
Coun John Mason, Deputy Leader of Blaenau Gwent Council, said:
“Sports facilities are focal points for our communities and this project will make a big difference to the rugby and bowls clubs in Nantyglo.”
Silent Valley En-Trust are also funding the project.
