Bourne: Changes to Welsh Conservative Assembly Team

Welsh Conservatives today announced changes to their front bench team in the National Assembly.

Leader of the Opposition Nick Bourne AM confirmed that Shadow Minister for Finance Nick Ramsay AM will take over the role of Chief Whip and Business Manager for the Assembly Group from Alun Cairns AM.

Commenting on the reshuffle, Mr Bourne said:

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Alun Cairns for all his work and would like to congratulate him on his election as the MP for the Vale of Glamorgan.

“On a personal note, I will miss his advice and assistance immensely as Chief Whip and Business Manager.

“I am also delighted to announce that Nick Ramsay will now take up the role of Chief Whip and Business Manager for the Conservative Group in the National Assembly. A resolution will be put to plenary accordingly.

“The Welsh Conservatives will continue to work tirelessly to scrutinise the Labour-Plaid Assembly Government and its policies.

“We have a strong, dedicated team and I am looking forward to the challenges over the coming year.”
