Commenting on the Holtham Commission report published today, Leader of the Opposition Nick Bourne AM said:
“I would like to thank Gerry Holtham and his commission on behalf of the Conservative Assembly Group for their immense contribution and hard work in putting together this report.
“Both the Conservative Group in the Assembly and the Welsh Conservative Party accept that there is a need to replace the Barnett formula with a needs-based system, as Wales is suffering under the preset arrangement.
“Our group will now consider a wider review of taxation options and will be studying the findings of the report in great detail, which provides definite food for thought.”
