Burglary at Ty Hafan Charity Shop, Penarth

South Wales PolicePolice in the Vale of Glamorgan are appealing for information following a burglary of the Ty Hafan charity shop on Stanwell Road in Penarth.

Sometime between 5.10pm on Saturday 8th February and 8.30am Monday entry was gained to the store after the rear door was forced open and a safe containing £500 in cash was stolen after an untidy search was made of the shop.

Detective Constable Rachel Knowles of Barry CID said: “This was an appalling incident targeting a charity which supports very sick children.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have any information which may assist us in our investigation to contact us.

“The stolen money was in a three feet by two feet beige coloured safe which was stolen and has not been found.

“We want to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area of the Ty Hafan charity shop on Stanwell Road between Saturday evening and Monday morning.”
