Speaking ahead of the publication of the OECD’s latest PISA test results, Angela Burns AM, Shadow Minister for Education, claimed the publication of the tests will determine whether Labour is on course to meet its 2015 target of Wales being in the top 20 of all OECD nations.
Angela Burns said:
“In October, Carwyn Jones promised improvements in Wales’ PISA rankings and we expect him to deliver, despite recent attempts by Labour Ministers to talk down the significance of the results.
“The publication of these latest PISA test scores will clearly show whether Labour is on course to raise educational standards in Wales to meet its pledge of making Wales a top 20 performing nation by 2015.
“Labour has been responsible for education in Wales for 14 years and it is time we saw significant improvements so young people in Wales can compete in the global race.”
