Burry Port Lifeboat Rescues three teenagers stranded on rocks off Llanelli beach

On Thursday 2 June 2011 at 9:10 pm the volunteers at the RNLI’s station at Burry Port launched to teenagers who had swam out of Llanelli Beach and were stranded on rocks. Due to the tidal rip they were unable to swim back to shore.

The two teenage girls were on holiday in the area and waved to shore for help. A teenage boy who was out walking took a rescue ring and swam out to try and give assistance. The three teenagers were recovered by the lifeboat and taken back to shore into the care of Loughor coastguard.

The station’s Atlantic 75 Blue Peter II crewed by Justin Pugh, Owain Davies and Lee Howells
