Business can benefit from expert advice

Local businesses are now able to benefit from expert health and safety advice from Neath Port Talbot Council.

The Authority’s Safety Education Centre, a partnership between the Corporate Health and Safety Section and the Education, Leisure and Lifelong Learning department, are aiming to reduce accidents and ill health in the private sector.

The Safety Education Centre is registered with the British Safety Council to deliver a range of accredited courses, including manual handling, fire awareness, food safety and is also an approved Health & Safety Executive Centre to deliver First Aid at Work.

Neath Port Talbot Council leader Ali Thomas said the Authority is sharing its expertise with local businesses.

“I would urge any local business requiring this valuable health and safety advice to get in touch,” he said. “Accidents and ill health in the work place costs the private sector hundreds of thousands of pounds each year.

“If we can help reduce this it would benefit the Neath Port Talbot economy for the benefit of all our residents.”

Located within easy reach from the North, East, South and West, the centre features free parking, disabled access and modern facilities.
