Do you want to know more about Women Writers in Wales? Do you have a best-selling novel inside you but don’t know where to start?
The Women Writers Day could have the answer. This unique one-day event brings some of the biggest names in the Welsh book world together with new writers.
Organised by Academi, the Welsh National Literature Promotion Agency, the day-long event at The Grand Pavilion, Porthcawl, aims to encourage new talent from Wales. New authors will also be given the chance to have their work assessed by Honno literary editor, Caroline Oakley.
Academi Chair of the English Members Committee, Catherine Merriman will launch The Women Writers Day which features talks from some of Wales’ best writers including celebrated author Tiffany Murray and international poet Pascale Petit, plus workshops from Nia Wyn, Lorraine Jenkin, Anita Flowers, Louise Medus and Maureen Vincent-Northam.
Visitors can also learn how to turn their short stories into money-spinners, pen successful poetry, explore writing in the community and create inspiring fiction. There will also be stalls and books for sale.
Anyone attending the day will also be given the chance to submit a manuscript to Honno by 10 June to secure a one to one session with editor Caroline Oakley on the day. Sessions will be timetabled on a first come first served basis.
Tickets are £15.00 with buffet, £10.00 without buffet.
