Can you help with airbourne children’s show?

Oily Cart and Galeri Caernarfon are looking for 5 local volunteers to assist in a series of interactive performances at Galeri Caernarfon from 25th – 29th May 2010.

Something in the Air is an aerial show which has been specifically created for young people aged 3-19 with complex disabilities or an Autistic Spectrum Disorder. There will be 6 young people participating in each show, each with an adult companion. Comfortably seated in suspended nest-chairs, the young people and their companions will ‘fly’ amongst the aerial performers in this unique kinaesthetic adventure.

Each pair of nest-chairs will need its own ‘Chair Driver’ who will control the height and movement of the chairs. We are looking for volunteers to assist with this. Chair drivers will need to be 18 or over and already in possession of an enhanced CRB check.

Volunteers must be able to commit to a training session on Tuesday 25th May from 10am – 6pm, and then three shows per day on each of the following 4 days (Wednesday – Saturday) May 26 – 29 from 9.15am until 3pm.

Lunch and £10 per day towards expenses will be provided.

For further information or if you would like to be considered please email your CV together with a cover letter explaining why you would like to be involved in this project, and the contact details of two referees.
