Cardiff Blues have announced a fantastic fixture against one of the top rugby nations in the world, with a historic match against Australia this autumn.
The match is scheduled for Tuesday 24 November 7.35pm kick off and forms part of the Qantas Wallabies autumn programme.
Securing the prestigious fixture is a feather in the cap for the Cardiff Blues as Australia will be the first national side to play at the superb new Cardiff City Stadium.
Speaking of the match Cardiff Blues CEO, Robert Norster said;
“The opportunity for our team to play international opposition at our new home is naturally one to relish. Having personally played my part in the proud history of Cardiff RFC against the Wallabies, I understand how prestigious such occasions can be.
I am certain this momentous fixture will capture the imagination for many, as well as, provide a great opportunity for us to celebrate this season’s new beginning. This is a great and affordable chance for supporters of all ages to see such illustrious visitors clash with our team in a special celebratory occasion during the final week of their European tour”.
Cardiff Blues Director of Rugby, David Young said,

The Wallabies will be touring the UK and Ireland playing against the four home unions starting with England (Twickenham, November 7th), Ireland (Croke Park, November 15th), Scotland (Murrayfield, November 21st) and Wales (Millennium Stadium, November 28th).
The match will be the first time that the Cardiff Blues have played against Australia, however Cardiff RFC are undefeated against the Wallabies in six attempts, notching up victories in 1908, 1947, 1957, 1966, 1975 and most recently beating the Grand Slam tourists in 1984.
The 1984 ‘Grand Slam’ tour of Britain and Ireland was a series of eighteen matches played by the Australian national team and they were the first and only Australian side to achieve a Grand Slam doing so in four Tests against the Home Nations. A number of great Australian players made their names on that tour with David Campese, Michael Lynagh, Mark Ella and Nick Farr-Jones all coming to prominence.
There is sure to be a huge amount of interest in this match and high demand for tickets which are attractively priced. Prices are £20 for adults in the anywhere in the stadium and £40 for family tickets (2 juniors 2 adults) in the Family Stand. Juniors and students can also purchase tickets anywhere in the stadium for only £10.
The match is included as part of the season ticket and Premier Club packages. Additional tickets can be purchased immediately by season ticket holders and Premier Club members.
