Cardiff cyclists to ride 222 miles from London to Amsterdam in aid of NSPCC

Longtime NSPCC supporters Therese Long and Diane Engelhardt from Cardiff are leading a team of 50 cyclists from London to Amsterdam in order to raise £30,000 for NSPCC Cymru/Wales’ Building Brighter Futures Appeal.

Therese, a mum of three, said: “I am so proud of this team which is made up of cyclists from all over the UK, Ireland and Spain. I am overwhelmed by their efforts and commitment. They have been training in extreme weather and working hard with their fundraising, all with the aim of improving the lives of vulnerable children in Wales!”

The team hope to cover the distance in 3 days, and will leave London on Thursday 3 May and plan to arrive in Amsterdam on Saturday 6 May.

The Building Brighter Futures Appeal was launched in April 2008 to fund the construction of Diane Engelhardt House – the NSPCC’s flagship centre for Wales and the ongoing development of vital services operating from the building.
