Careers advice for Muslim girls

Around 150 local Muslim schoolgirls will attend a careers roadshow at Cardiff City Hall next week.

The girls, from Fitzalan, Cathays and Cardiff High Schools will meet national and local female Muslim role models,
employers and employment agencies to explore career options.

Cardiff-born BBC News reporter and producer Almeena Ahmed will be among the speakers at the ‘Our Choices’ Roadshow, organised by the National Muslim Women’s Advisory Group on Tuesday March 23.

Co-ordinated by Cardiff Council, the Welsh Assembly Government, the Henna Foundation, Race Equality First and the
Communities First Ethnic Minority Partnership, the aim of the event is to inspire girls to consider a wider range of
options than they might otherwise have done, give them practical information about opportunities in their local area
and access to women who can give them some mentoring support.
