Carers offered free advice on carers’ rights day

It is Carers Rights Day on Friday, December 3 and the Vale of Glamorgan is offering a number of advice sessions for carers.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council’s cabinet member for Social and Care services, Cllr Dorothy Turner, said: “Thousands of people in Wales are caring for an elderly relative, a sick friend or a disabled family member. They are unpaid for their work and often without support.

“The council are organising ‘Carers Drop in Cafes’ at venues across the county on Carers Rights Day. Each event has a theme, but carers can come along to any centre, for a chat and advice about any aspect of caring. We hope carers will take this chance to meet our advisors.”
