Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is celebrating the Centenary of International Women’s Day by recognising the incredible achievements of female residents.
The authority’s Equality, Diversity and Social Justice Team are appealing to people from across the County Borough to nominate candidates for the International Women’s Day Awards.
It is important for people from all walks of life to get involved in the awards, ensuring outstanding female residents secure commendation and celebration.
The awards have the following categories:
- Life Achievement
- Community Neighbour
- Overcoming barriers
- Volunteering
- Above and beyond
Cllr Annette Davies, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Equality, said: “I am so pleased we are able to celebrate the Centenary of International Women’s Day with a prestigious awards ceremony.
“It is important for us to recognise the achievements of our female residents and to celebrate those who work so hard to, in their own way, make Rhondda Cynon Taf a wonderful place to live.”
Winners of the categories, and an overall winner, will be announced at the prestigious awards, which take place at Tonyrefail Leisure Centre on March 8.
Nominees must be over the age of 18 and you can nominate them for up to two categories.
Residents can go online or contact us by telephone to secure a nomination form to be filled in, which includes information about who you are nominating and why.
