Celebrate the achievements of women

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is celebrating the Centenary of International Women’s Day by recognising the incredible achievements of female residents.

The authority’s Equality, Diversity and Social Justice Team are appealing to people from across the County Borough to nominate candidates for the International Women’s Day Awards.

It is important for people from all walks of life to get involved in the awards, ensuring outstanding female residents secure commendation and celebration.

The awards have the following categories:

  • Overcoming barriers
  • Volunteering

Cllr Annette Davies, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Equality, said: “I am so pleased we are able to celebrate the Centenary of International Women’s Day with a prestigious awards ceremony.

“It is important for us to recognise the achievements of our female residents and to celebrate those who work so hard to, in their own way, make Rhondda Cynon Taf a wonderful place to live.”

Winners of the categories, and an overall winner, will be announced at the prestigious awards, which take place at Tonyrefail Leisure Centre on March 8.
