Celebrating their centuries

Three Flintshire ladies all over the age of 100 recently enjoyed a visit to see the Chair of Flintshire County Council, Councillor Hilary McGuill, at County Hall, Mold.

The youngest guest was Sarah Tweedley, who is 100 and from Talacre. Hilda Port is 100 years old and seven months, and is from Shotton, and Ida Lawrence from Mynydd Isa is 105 years old.

Sarah still does her own shopping, cleaning, washing, and cooking, and only gave up driving last September.

Ida still enjoys dancing, and has always taken a keen interest in athletics, and running in particular.

Hilda keeps her own house tidy and dusts, and says that she has good friends, no regrets, and is still enjoying life by always looking forward, and not living in the past.
