Chaplaincy Team launched at Deeside College

Deeside College is following in the footsteps of top Universities and Premier League football clubs by getting its very own Chaplaincy Team.

The chaplains are members of the Church in Wales and the Methodist Church and will be on hand at the Deeside College site to talk to students and staff about faith, life, love and relationships; stress, jobs, money and more.

The Chaplaincy Team started work after the Easter break and as well as being available for everyone to talk to, they plan to put on events across the year to benefit students from all four of the college’s sites.

An official launch of the new scheme will take place on Wednesday 11 May at 12pm and will be attended by The Bishop of St Asaph, the Right Reverend Dr Gregory K Cameron.

Reverend Martin Batchelor, Vicar of Bistre is heading up the Team and said:

“This is an opportunity for the church to work in partnership with Deeside College for the benefit of all involved in the life of the college.  This joint initiative has already been welcomed warmly”.

Deeside College Student Services Manager, Karen Senior said:

“Deeside College is committed to providing its learners with access to a broad range of services that may help them get on in both their studies and also in their everyday life.  I am confident that the Chaplaincy Team will prove to be a valuable addition to those options already provided.”
