Children from Chernobyl visit Flintshire

A group of children from the Ukraine have visited Flintshire.

The children from Chernobyl met the Chairman of Flintshire County Council, Councillor Colin Legg, during a visit to County Hall, Mold.

The trip was organised by the Chester, Deeside and Ellesmere Port Link of the charity Chernobyl Children Live line. It only sponsors a child once as there are over 800,000 children waiting their turn for a recuperative holiday. This chance of a lifetime helps to reduce the radiation in their bodies by up to 90% and helps build their immune system resulting in an extra two years on their lives.

The children enjoyed a trip to Deeside Leisure Centre after meeting the Chairman.

Councillor Legg said: ““We hope the children enjoyed their stay in Flintshire and we hope to welcome more in the future.”
