Choreographer Adds X-Factor Glitz to Wrexham Fashion Shows

A TOP UK choreographer who dances with pop superstar Kylie Minogue and created routines for X Factor finalists will add glitz to a fashion spectacular.

The shopping centre will be the venue for the fashion and dance extravaganza, with visitors able to watch the very latest Spring and Summer designs modelled as part of a slick, specially commissioned, choreographed show.

There will be 12 performances to enjoy throughout the day with retailers showing off their very latest outfits and designs based around four themes, floral resolutions, monochrome, fondants and tribal.

Among the stores taking part in Fashion on the Move will be M&S, Debenhams,  Trespass, Ragazzi, Wallis, Topshop and Topman, Next, Dorothy Perkins, Burton, River Island and Bank. Mococo will be providing the jewellery worn by the models.

Glenn, 28, of JK Dance Productions, was the man behind the ‘It’s Chico Time’ dance routine – the song which propelled X Factor finalist Chico Slimani to the top of the UK charts.

He talked of what he had planned for the Eagles Meadow event and said: “I want to make the shows interesting and a little different. Dance is so huge at the moment and it’s so great that everyone loves watching it and taking part.

“What I can promise is that it will be high energy, visually very striking and will really get the party going.”

Glenn, who names Michael Jackson as his dance idol, only recently gave up dancing as a profession to concentrate on his choreography role full time.

He said: “It’s definitely been the right choice to just choreograph full time. I’ve worked with amazing people like UK singer-songwriter Labrinth, The Saturdays, Kimberley Wyatt from the Pussy Cat Dolls and Ashley from Diversity as well as lots of TV commercials and cool fashion shows.

“Glenn started dancing as a child and in his youth, he travelled all over the world to take part in disco freestyle dance.

He said: “I started replicating dance moves off TV and films. It was Michael Jackson, MC Hammer and a film called ‘Breakdance The Movie’ at that time.”

He attended a stage school instead of secondary school and successfully auditioned for a tribute boy band.

After stage school he became a touring member of the international smash hit Spirit of the Dance and following that, his big break came when he was selected to perform with Atomic Kitten on a television show.

Glenn said: “That was my platform and catalyst to then go on and dance for some of the biggest artists in the world.

“But now I focus solely on the choreography which leads me to live events such as Fashion Frames at Eagles Meadow which I am really looking forward to.”

Eagles Meadow manager, Kevin Critchley, said: “The show which Glenn and his team have planned is a whole new concept and a first for Eagles Meadow and Wrexham.

“To have a choreographer like Glenn put the show together along with other professional dancers and models who have worked with some of the biggest names in showbiz is a real coup for Wrexham.

“It will really put Eagles Meadow on the fashion map and show that you don’t need to travel to the major cities to find the latest designs and best outfits.”
