Christmas Memorial Service at Thornhill Crematorium

A Christmas Memorial Service, will be held at the Wenallt Chapel at Thornhill Crematorium on Sunday 5th December 2010 at 2pm.

Everyone is welcome to attend and pay their respects to their loved ones during this Christmas period.

The welcome will be given by The Right Honourable Lord Mayor Cllr Keith Hyde and the service will be led by Rev Lionel Fanthorpe and contain a number of readings, poems and hymns.  Deborah Morgan Lewis Grant will be singing during the service.

The Castell Coch Choral Society will also be singing before the service from 13:45pm and will accompany the congregation during the service.

A collection will be held in aid of League of Friends of Whitchurch Hospital.

Refreshments will be available after the service.

This Christmas Bereavement Services will again be selling memorial tags for a minimum donation of £2.00 in memory of a loved one which can be placed on one of the Christmas Memorial Trees in the Wenallt Chapel Courtyard. The trees will be placed from 1st December 2010 and will remain in situ until 6th January 2011 when they will be removed in keeping with ‘Twelfth Night’ tradition. All donations received will be in support of The League of Friends of Whitchurch Hospital.

Councillor Nigel Howells, Executive Member for Sport, Leisure and Culture, said: “We recognise that the festive season can be a particularly difficult time for those who have lost a loved one and we are glad to be able to give this opportunity for people to come together to pay their respects.  In addition we are delighted to support The League of Friends of Whitchurch Hospital, a charity that does such valuable work throughout the year.”
