Classic motorbikes will roar into Swansea

Some of Britain’s most eye-catching motorbikes will be roaring into Swansea this weekend.

Motorbike enthusiasts from across South Wales are expected to ride into the city on Sunday September 26 when the Classic Motorcycle Show returns for the second time this year.

The event has been organised by Swansea Museum and will be held at Swansea Museum’s collection site in Landore from 10am to 4pm.

Roger Gale, Swansea Museum Exhibitions Officer, said: “We organised a similar show to this back in June and it was enormously successful. These events are now established as some of the best in Wales. They attract keen motorcyclists from across the country and it’s a great chance for enthusiasts to compare notes and admire each other’s classic motorbikes.

“It’s also a wonderful spectacle for people who aren’t necessarily riders of motorbikes because it’s a colourful occasion that gives visitors the chance to see motorbikes and other memorabilia from a bygone era.”

Swansea Museum’s
collection site is located in the Landore Park and Ride site close to the Liberty Stadium.

It’s home to the museum’s reserve, maritime and industrial collections and will be open to discover throughout the Classic Motorcycle Show.

A traveller’s van, lorries, a fire engine and two lifeboats are among the most popular items on display.
