Come and get your compost in Harlech

Gwynedd Council’s Waste and Recycling Service will be holding a free compost day at Ffridd Rasus Recycling Centre, Harlech on Saturday 17 September from 9.30am-3pm.

The compost is made from food waste that people have been putting in their brown bins. Sacks of compost are available for free to Gwynedd residents as a thank you for sorting and separating their waste, and using the brown bin service.

The composting days are always very popular, according to Steffan Jones, Gwynedd Council’s Senior Manager for Waste and Recycling.

He said: “When we have held these days in the past all the compost has been taken, over 500 sacks the last time. The popularity of our compost shows the quality of the product.

“This is our way of thanking the people of Gwynedd for putting their peelings, scraps and food that is past its best in the brown bin.”
