Come and visit the police at the WAG Open Day

Want to know more about the local Neighbourhood Policing Team in West Conwy?

Then come and visit us at the Welsh Assembly Government Open Day which takes place this weekend (Saturday, 25th of September).

Local officers and Volunteer Cadets will be available to offer advice on the All Wales Doorstep Crime Campaign – a WAG funded campaign which is aimed at helping to reduce doorstep crime and decrease the number of rogue trader and distraction burglary victims. Crime prevention literature regarding home security and personal safety will also be available and free purse bells will also be distributed.

There will be also be an opportunity for you to vote on the issues that matter by taking part in ‘Balance your Bobbies’ – a scheme which allows you to let us know what is important to you.

Your responses inform your local Neighbourhood Policing Teams of key issues specific to your community, and by ‘Balancing your Bobbies’ you will be able to inform your District Inspector where you believe his/her neighbourhood policing resources should be spent.

District Inspector Ian Verburg said: “This will be a great opportunity for the people in the area not only to have a tour of the new building but to also meet their local officers.

“Information such as crime prevention advice and how to set up your own Neighbourhood Watch schemes will also be available. If you are in the area I encourage you to attend – it’s going to be a great day.”

The open day takes place at the new Welsh Assembly Government building, Sarn Mynach, Llandudno Junction, LL31 9RZ between 10an and 4pm.
