Council praised for its approach to energy conservation

Wales Audit Office has carried out a detailed review of Flintshire County Council’s approach to energy conservation and climate change.

The Council was praised for its forward planning and continued commitment to tackling the tough issues around energy conservation, understanding the impact of climate change and of the measures needed to manage and plan for the effects of a warmer climate.

Neal Cockerton, Flintshire County Council’s Head of Technical Services, said: “This is a good report and one of the first Wales Audit Office has carried out on a Council and demonstrates that we are making good progress in tackling the issues of energy conservation and climate change. We have some further work on embedding our strategies within the organisation but we are fully committed to raising awareness of these important issues so we can all play our part.”
