Neath Port Talbot Council is asking parents for their views on childcare.
Every three years, the Welsh Assembly asks councils to carry out a ‘Childcare Sufficiency Assessment’.
The council has an obligation to provide adequate childcare in Neath Port Talbot so a survey needs to be carried out to find out what childcare is already available and what demand there is likely to be in the future.
Officers from the Children and Young People’s Partnership Early Years Unit have set up a brief web based survey so that parents can easily have their say.

The aim will be to gain the views and opinions of parents about childcare. The type of questions being asked is: do you use childcare? if not, why not? where should it be? what sort of childcare do you want? what is good about your childcare? how can it be improved?
All the information will be fed back to the partnership so that the right kind of childcare can be in the right place at the right times.
“Childcare needs to be of the highest standard possible, “says Council Leader, Ali Thomas.
“The survey will enable childcare to be developed in areas where it is needed and used by parents.
“I urge all parents to complete the survey to help us with future plans for childcare.”
