Council’s Head of Housing wins top business award

Colleagues of Clare Budden, Flintshire County Council’s Head of Housing, have congratulated her for winning the New Leader award in the Network SHE Awards 2011, which is for top female business people in North Wales and the North West.

Clare was nominated for her outstanding leadership qualities, and the innovative and ground breaking changes in service delivery, which she has lead through to fruition.

“Having nominated Clare for this prestigious award, I am thrilled that she has won it, and it is richly deserved. In her two years with the Council’s housing department, Clare has personally led a transformation in the service and brought about real improvements for the residents of Flintshire.”

Executive Member for Housing, Councillor Helen Brown, said:

“Clare’s drive and ability to communicate with elected members and her staff is second to none. One of Clare’s strongest attributes is her enthusiasm and dedication to provide quality and first class services to the residents of Flintshire. She believes in her work and in getting the very best results for all. A true leader.”

Clare said:

“I was really surprised to have even been nominated, so I am very grateful to those who put me forward for this award. I would also like to thank my colleagues in the Council’s Housing department, who have worked really hard to support me, and to take forward a host of improvement measures. It’s particularly rewarding for me to be recognised for the work I have been doing at Flintshire County Council. I am a Flintshire girl through and through, so I feel passionate about the work I do here.”
