Crime Commissioner to Address Businesses at Breakfast Event

IOD_logoBusiness crime will be on the menu when the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for North Wales addresses businesses at a breakfast event next month (July).

Winston Roddick QC, the first PCC elected for North Wales, will discuss his role as well as speak about business crime and how to safeguard against it.  There will also be an opportunity for business leaders to quiz the guest speaker in a Q+A session.

The free networking event, at the Quay Hotel, Deganwy, is being jointly hosted by the North Wales branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD) and North Wales Business Club (NWBC). It runs from 8am to 9.30am on Thursday, 3 July and breakfast will be provided.

Wrexham-headquartered recruitment firm gap personnel and Chester-based solicitors Aaron and Partners have sponsored the event.

Mr Roddick was born and raised in Caernarfon and trained as a barrister before being appointed to the bar in 1968. He is one of Wales’ leading barristers and was Wales’ first Counsel General, the most senior legal adviser to the Welsh Assembly.

IoD North Wales chair Helen Watson said: “It is a privilege to have Winston Roddick as guest speaker at one of our summer events.  He brings a wealth of North Wales business and community knowledge through his roles in the law sector, as well as the police service.

“I urge all business leaders in the region to take advantage of what is sure to be a fantastic breakfast and networking event.”

The IoD is the longest-standing organisation to serve and support business leaders, with more than 100 years of service in raising professional standards. You don’t need to be a company director to join the IoD. Senior managers are welcome from large public organisations to small family firms.

Members benefit from services including free business advice, a full training programme, research facilities and networking events.

The event is free to members, with non-members asked to pay £10 plus VAT.  Demand is expected to be high and places must be booked by 26 June.
