The Dafydd Orwig Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Idris Reynolds. His Welsh-language lecture is entitled ‘Dic – y diweddar Archdderwydd Dic Jones’ and will discuss the late Eisteddfod Archdruid, Dic Jones. It will be held at Bethesda Library on Monday, 21 June at 7.30pm.
This year’s lecturer is a poet, librarian and tutor. He has won two National Eisteddfod Chairs and he regularly contributes poems and reviews for Welsh-language magazine Barddas. For twenty years he has been a poetry and creative writing tutor in Lampeter. He lives in Brynhoffnant, Ceredigion.
Dyffryn Ogwen’s Cultural Society has arranged this memorial lecture annually since 2000 to celebrate the interests of the late Dafydd Orwig in the language and culture of his nation. The event is supported by Gwynedd Council and the lecture is held at Bethesda Library – as a local councillor, Dafydd Orwig was very influential in ensuring the construction of this library in Bethesda in 1984.
All are welcome – free entry.
