Deeside lorry appeal

Police have issued a photograph of a lorry similar to the one which was stolen on the Deeside Industrial Estate, yesterday, Wednesday 17 February.

The lorry carrying Umbro sportswear was stolen at about 8am yesterday, as it made its way to the Umbro factory in Deeside.

The 37-year-old driver was threatened with a gun before being taken against his will.

The vehicle was a black Volvo FH12 Sleeper cab, with ‘Ray Stewart Haulage’ on the sides written in gold and silver.

The cab windows were smashed and the driver was forced into a black people carrier type vehicle.

The burnt out lorry, minus its load, was found in the St Helens area.

Sergeant Craig Turner reiterated: “Deeside Industrial Estate is a busy area, especially at this time of the morning, and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the vehicle or noticed anything suspicious.”
