The Coast Is To Be Alive With The Sound Of Music

Walkers on the renowned Ceredigion Coast Path may have a treat in store between 19 to 21 February 2010 as over 90 of Ceredigion’s most talented young musicians will be heading for the Urdd Gobaith Cymru Centre at Llangrannog.

Ceredigion’s young musicians will be rehearsing orchestral music before presenting a concert in the Great Hall of the Aberystwyth Arts Centre at 7:00pm on Tuesday 23 February 2010. The young musicians are members of Ceredigion’s Schools’ String Orchestra, Harp Ensemble and Symphonic Wind Band.

A  number of the young people will be representing Ceredigion in various music activities during the coming summer, including the Three Counties Ensembles (Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire) and the Welsh National Ensembles.

The Ceredigion Schools’ String Orchestra will be rehearsing Edward Elgar’s popular ‘Serenade for Strings’ Opus 20 and the Harp Ensemble and Wind Band will rehearse a selection of unusual music. All will be revealed at the concert on the evening of Tuesday 23 February, 2010, in what is usually one of the most favoured events by devotees of orchestral concerts within Ceredigion and Mid Wales.

Tickets for the Ceredigion’s Schools’ String Orchestra, Harp Ensemble and Symphonic Wind Band concert are available at Cerdd Ystwyth in Aberystwyth.
