Denbighshire’s street lighting team which has won Performance Networks Best Performer category in the APSE (Association for Public Service Excellence) award for the last four years has made it into the final shortlist again this year.
This prestigious nomination also means that the teams’ achievements will be published in Network news, the forthcoming street lighting summary report out in March, 2013 and will be included in the APSE best practice case study publication that will be produced in the new year!
Even more reason to celebrate, is the success of the public realm grounds maintenance team, who have also been nominated in two categories this year, Best Performing Service and Most Improved Service.
APSE is a not for profit local government body working with over 300 councils throughout the UK to promote excellence in public services.
Councillor David Smith Cabinet Lead Member with responsibility for street lighting said: ‘This is a fantastic result for Denbighshire – we should all be very proud’
‘Over the last few years, officers and members have worked tirelessly together to improve the service we provide to our residents and this nomination bears testimony to that’
‘This has really been a team effort and this shows we are committed to being a high performing council, closer to our communities’
‘I wish the team every success for the awards ceremony in December.
